POLISI WA DUBAI SASA KUANZA KUTUMIA GOOGLE GLASS ZENYE UWEZO WA KUMTAMBUA MHALIFU..

We may not have reached the time of “Minority Report” yet, but there’s no doubt that advances in technology are quickly changing the way we go about monitoring and enforcing our laws.
Last summer, former NSA employee turned whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed to us that most of our phone and internet activity is constantly being tracked by someone, whether it’s the government or just Google’s ad software.
And as long as we’re on the subject of Google, the tech giant just struck a deal with the police force of Dubai that is somewhat reminiscent of George Orwell’s famous dystopian novel 1984.
Earlier this month, the Dubai Police Department announced that they will be equipping their officers with Google Glass.

The “glasses” will be connected to the department’s photo database and equipped with facial recognition technology that will alert the officer if he or she happens to encounter a wanted person.
Dubai plans to start the program out with a pilot phase, where the officers will only use Google Glass to track vehicles and traffic violations. If that goes well, Dubai Police will start equipping detectives with Glass for the facial recognition program.
Each pair of Google Glass costs around $1,500, but that’s nothing for a police force that drives around in Ferraris, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis.
